The Beam County Primary School school councillors have a wide range of duties, which include:
- Reporting back to their class after every school council meeting
- Holding a meeting of the class council every two weeks
- Taking issues brought up by their class to the school council, and communicating the views of their class.
Our campaign: WE WON’T REST
We have raised awareness of homelessness in the UK and the national homeless charity ‘Crisis’ across Beam Primary. School Councillors have created a short video to be presented to the school in an assembly noting various statistics and effects it has on individuals, along with a number of posters and photos for children and staff to observe.
How can WE help? As part of this campaign, School Councillors have encouraged our school, both pupils and staff, to collect clothes and dry or tinned food for a local homeless shelter to ensure the homeless in our borough are kept warm this Winter.’
