Progress Meeting Schedule

At Beam, we believe that strong partnerships with parents and carers are essential in supporting our pupils’ learning journeys. In line with the Department for Education (DfE) guidelines, which require schools to provide at least one opportunity per year for parents/carers to discuss pupil progress with a teacher, we go beyond this by offering three dedicated opportunities throughout the academic year.

These meetings are designed to provide a detailed overview of your child’s progress, achievements, and next steps, as well as an opportunity to meet their current and future teachers.

1. Thursday, 9th January 2025 – Virtual Progress Meeting

Platform: SchoolCloud
Duration: 5 minutes per child
Time: 3:30 PM – 6:00 PM
This short virtual meeting will provide an update on your child’s progress. Detailed instructions for accessing SchoolCloud will be shared closer to the date.

2. Friday, 25th April 2025 – In-Person Meeting

Duration: 10 minutes per child
Time: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Note: This is a pupil non-contact day.
We encourage you to bring your child along to participate in the discussion and showcase their work actively.

3. Thursday, 10th July 2025 – In-Person Meet and Greet
This session will provide an opportunity to meet your child’s new teacher for the upcoming academic year and discuss their progress with their current teacher.

We are confident that these meetings will offer valuable insight into your child’s progress and strengthen the support network around them. Detailed instructions for booking appointments will be provided ahead of each meeting.

Summer Term 2023 - 24
Celebrating International Day: A Vibrant Celebration of Individuality and Cultures

On Friday, July 13th, our school community came together to celebrate International Day, a special event dedicated to honouring the rich diversity and unique individuality of our pupils, families, and staff. It was a day filled with colour, joy, and a deep appreciation for the various cultures that make our school community so unique and vibrant.

A Celebration of Diversity and Inclusion

International Day was an opportunity for everyone in our school to share and learn about the different cultures represented among us. Understanding and appreciating our diverse backgrounds strengthens our community and fosters a sense of belonging for everyone. The event was designed to celebrate where we come from and who we are as individuals.

Highlights of the Day

The day was filled with various activities that allowed pupils to express their cultural heritage and learn from one another. Here are some of the highlights:

Cultural Showcases: Pupils, staff and parents proudly displayed traditional clothing, performed dances, and shared music from their cultural backgrounds, transforming the school into a vibrant tapestry of global traditions.
International Food Fair: The school playground was turned into a delicious display of international cuisine, with families contributing dishes that showcased their culinary heritage. It was a fantastic way to explore new tastes and appreciate the diversity of our community's culinary traditions.
Mystery Guest: Parents who volunteered to share insights into their culture. Due to the nature of the guests, even the parents' children were not aware they were coming. They learned new phrases, foods, etc., sparking curiosity and mutual respect and encouraging cultural exchange.
Beam's International Cook Book: Our Beam community have shared their favourite dishes. So, if you have not contributed and would like to do so, please complete this Google Form link:  Beam Recipe Book

A Day to Remember

International Day was more than just a celebration; it was a learning experience that helped our pupils understand the importance of inclusion, respect, and cultural awareness. It reinforced our commitment to nurturing a school environment where every individual feels valued and respected for who they are.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to making International Day a memorable success, from our dedicated staff and volunteers to our wonderful parents and community members. Your participation and enthusiasm made all the difference.

As we continue to celebrate our differences and similarities, we look forward to many more events that bring us together as a united and inclusive community. Here's to celebrating our unique identities and building a stronger, more connected school community!

Thank you to everyone for making International Day such a meaningful and joyous event!
